models

Here you'll find pics of models for X-wing: Alliance. Many may never be completed for various reasons. Some might be so old that updating them just isn't worth the time. Some I may eventually get around to. Pics below are thumbnailed for ease of viewing.

Incom T-47 Airspeeder

Better known as the Rebel Snowspeeder, this modified repulsorcraft was built from a civilian airspeeder. This model is actually a fairly old one. Although you can't tell from the pics below, she's a mess of backwards faces, as well as faces that don't join with a vertex so there's gaps a-plenty. She also has faces that aren't monoplanar, so parts vanish from certain angles. She exists only as a partly finished EXTERIOR model and some early work on a cockpit interior. Maybe someday I'll go back and rebuild her, but this model is pretty well doomed to the scrapheap.

Incom T-65XJ X-wing

Originating in Vector Prime, the XJ series is the latest X-wing model in service at the time of the New Jedi Order novels. This concept model is based on the description of the ship in Vector Prime, with some liberties taken to try and match craft designs at this period in the New Republic's history. Although she only has two engines, I've given each engine a split nacelle both to match the classic X-wing design aesthetic as best as possible, and because of the maneuvering advantages it provides the ship. The XJ is incomplete, missing a cockpit interior and a BASE model. Finishing her off is fairly high on my to-do list.

Incom T-65T Tandem X-wing

This real bizarre X-wing variant's first (and only) appearance has been in Crimson Empire II. The only stats I can find for her are highly conjectural, although basically she's a somewhat faster X-wing with a beefed up torpedo loadout and more engines. I may get around to finishing her one of these days, although since she's a model I'd like to see finished sometime I may be willing to pass her off to someone else. She still needs a cockpit interior and BASE model.

Koensayr R-wing/R

This is a fighter of my own design, the infamous R-wing Long-range Reconnaissance craft. She's first introduced in my FanFic and has gone through a number of changes in her hull design since I first created her. The original model was extremely boxy, and over time I've refined the design. At one point she had a nose and canopy a lot like the F-86 Saber. Now she has a full bubble canopy like the F-16 and a more knife-like nose (she's always had the dual side pods, laser turret, single forward cannon and engine exhaust grille). She has twice the sublight acceleration of the A-wing (ILM speed 300 MGLT) and is even more maneuverable. The tradeoff is in armament and armor. She's an extremely fragile fighter, with minimal shielding and almost no hull armor. She must rely on speed, agility, and stealth for survival, and the R-wing/R has all these in excess. Sophisticated stealthing systems make her all but undetectable by sensors, and her black hull and unique engine grille maker her nearly invisible to the naked eye. She exists as a mostly complete EXTERIOR model, and I hope to finish her sometime.

R-wing/R, second design.

The Senator

Another ship of my own design introduced in my FanFic, the Senator is an immense vessel measuring over 20 kilometers in length. Built as the diplomatic and military flagship of the New Republic, she is designated as a Flag Cruiser. The Senator was built by Republic StarDrive at the Bilbringi Shipyards, however her construction was a joint project by virtually every planet and race in the Republic. The Corellian Engineering Corporation provided her engines, the Verpine her deflector shield system, Arakyd designed the weapons systems. Her hull was built along the familiar organic lines of the Mon Calamarian Star Cruisers that had long been a symbol of the New Republic's military might. Her VIP wings were a collection of every culture in the Republic, with staterooms, artwork and decor provided by peoples throughout the New Republic. The centerpiece was the main ballroom, located at the very tip of the Senator's bow. The compartment could fit half a squadron of X-wings in the interior room alone. A raised dais at the forward end extends out in a transparisteel bubble, providing a commanding view of space around the ship. As a weapon of war she's more formidable for her extensive command and control facilities than as her capabilities as a combatant. However she possesses twice the shielding and hull armor of an Executor-class Super Star Destroyer, and although she carried no more weaponry than these older ships, the Senator's more advanced turbolasers gives her a major edge in combat. The Senator has never been finished. The original model that was actually OPTed looked much like a big stingray, with a very narrow stern and huge bow. I wasn't happy with the final design so rebuilt her. The current version is closer to what I envisioned, unfortunately there's faces that like to disappear from certain angles.

Rendili StarDrive Republic-class Star Destroyer

Although Rendili StarDrive's legendary Victory-class Star Destroyer, designed by famed engineer Walex Blissex, was immediately followed by his daughter Lira Wessex's dreamchild, the infamous Imperator-class Star Destroyer, the Republic-class was designed by Blissex himself for the New Republic in the years following the Battle of Endor, and is therefore considered the true successor to the Victory Star Destroyer. Although smaller than Imperator, the Republic-class carries 50% more firepower than the Imperial-I and fixes many of the design problems found in the bigger ship. To date only one known official image of the Republic Star Destroyer exists, found in the WEG sourcebook, Cracken's Threat Dossier, and it's a pretty much worthless image because it barely looks like a Star Destroyer at all. When doing this model I started from scratch and tried to come up with my own design. She's a blend of three specific Star Destroyer designs: With the Kuat Drive Yards Imperator and the Rendili StarDrive Victory-class Star Destroyers provided the bulk of the references, and the third being the Harrow from one of Stackpole's X-wing comics (this third ship is tentatively labeled as a separate class by Curtis Saxton. While he considers her a KDY vessel, she seems to have more in common with the Victory, so may also be a Rendili ship). Like the Senator this isn't the first version of this ship I've done. The other was just a cleaner-hulled Imperial, whereas I've now redone her to try and make a bridge between the ImpStar and older Vic (the old model is compared in the last pic). This is another model I really hope to get OPTed in the future.
